BBC Radio Merseyside

We have recently had a measure of success with our song-writing when we were placed runners up in BBC Radio Merseyside songwriting competition! We were delighted to hear our names read out on radio and also delighted to hear judge, Cassidy Shipley comment that we had 'strength' as song writers and also describe our song as 'beautifully crafted' which was great for us.

Not only does our success in the competition encourage us to keep going (!) it also gives us great exposure as we will be singing/playing our song on Radio Merseyside in September. The producers have decided that together with the one outright winner of the competition, the runners up - of which there were five and we were one - should also be given the opportunity to perform their pieces. Claire Hamilton commented on her show - 'Claire Hamilton on Sunday' - 'the judges felt there were so many talented people who needed recognition for their songwriting achievement, we couldn't just have one winner'. We'll let you know when we get the go-ahead for our broadcast!
